Board of Health
Mission Statement
The Warren Board of Health, a three-member elected body, is dedicated to protecting and promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our community. We provide oversight and enforcement of public health regulations, food safety, environmental health, animal and agricultural standards, and emergency preparedness. Through proactive inspections, resident support, and education, we work to prevent disease, ensure safe living and working environments, and maintain a healthy, resilient community for all residents.
We carry out mandated and recommended activities based on local conditions and available resources, under the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Department of Environmental Protection.
Call the Board of Health office with any questions, comments, or concerns.

In 2023, the Town of Warren joined an intermunicipal agreement to participate in the Public Health Excellence (PHE) Grant through the Mill Towns Public Health Coalition, with the Town of Ludlow serving as the Host Agent.
Mill Towns Public Health (MTPH) is comprised of four municipalities: Ludlow, Palmer, Warren, and West Brookfield. The goal of Mill Towns Public Health is to increase staff capacity and expertise and to deliver better health protections, programs, and outcomes.
The Public Health Excellence (PHE) Grant aims to strengthen local public health systems in Massachusetts by fostering collaboration, building capacity, and ensuring compliance with public health standards. Designed to address resource disparities and enhance operational efficiency, the grant encourages municipalities to work together through shared service models that optimize the use of resources, expertise, and personnel. By pooling these assets, municipalities can overcome individual capacity limitations, expand their research, and deliver a broader range of constant, high-quality, and equitable public health services to the communities they serve.
